Frequently Asked Questions
What's the weight capacity per shelf? +
Each epoxy wire shelf holds 600-800 lbs when the weight is evenly distributed. The posts and leveling feet are rated for the combined load of all shelves in the unit.
What's the difference between epoxy and chrome wire shelving? +
Chrome is a great choice for dry environments like offices and retail stockrooms. Epoxy is the better option anywhere moisture is present, walk-in coolers, freezers, commercial kitchens, and humid warehouses. The epoxy coating creates a sealed barrier that prevents rust and resists bacteria growth, which is why it's the standard for foodservice and healthcare. Epoxy also comes in multiple colors (black, gray, green) while chrome is chrome.
Is this shelving NSF certified for food storage? +
Yes. All of our epoxy wire shelving units are NSF certified, meaning they meet the strict standards for sanitation, cleanability, and material safety required in foodservice, healthcare, and commercial environments. They'll pass health inspections in restaurants, hospitals, schools, and any other inspected facility.
Do I need tools to assemble these? +
No tools required. The shelves snap onto the posts and lock in place with the included split sleeves (clips). Most people have a unit assembled in 10-15 minutes. Shelves can be adjusted in 1-inch increments at any time by moving the clips up or down the posts.
Can I add more shelves or casters later? +
Absolutely. We sell additional individual epoxy shelves in every size and color, as well as caster kits that convert any stationary unit into a rolling cart. Just make sure the additional shelf matches the depth and width of your existing unit. Caster kits are universal and fit all units.
What does the 15-year warranty cover? +
The manufacturer's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship — including peeling, cracking, or premature rusting of the epoxy finish — for 15 years from the date of purchase. Normal wear and tear or damage from misuse are not covered. We handle warranty claims directly — just contact us with your order number and photos.
Do you offer quantity discounts for large orders? +
Yes. We offer volume pricing on all wire shelving units. Just call or text us at 305-333-8888 or email contact@industrial4less.com with the sizes and quantities you need and we'll send you a quote.
