ESD-Safe Shelf Bins — Conductive Hopper Bins for Electronics Benches and Shelving

These are Quantum's conductive ESD-safe shelf bins — the static-safe open-front bin that hangs on a shelf lip to turn ordinary wire or steel shelving into a static-controlled storage wall. Every bin is molded from carbon-filled copolymer polypropylene, so the whole bin, not a surface coating, carries static charge safely away instead of letting it build on the parts inside. Surface resistivity is less than 105 ohms per square, the conductive range, which protects ICs, bare and populated PCBs, connectors, and other static-sensitive components from electrostatic discharge, EMI, and induced fields.

Each bin has an open hopper front for fast, one-handed picking and a molded label holder to keep parts identified. A molded rear hang lock hooks over the front lip of a shelf — so the bins sit level and pull forward without sliding off — and the bins nest inside one another empty to save space in storage and shipping. Made in the USA and sold by the carton, in 13 sizes across 12", 18", and 24" shelf depths, all 4" high.

Built for Electronics Assembly

SMT & Hand-Solder Benches

Line a bench shelf with static-safe hopper bins so loose components, hardware, and kitted parts sit at eye level and pull forward one-handed — a charge never reaches the part a tech is about to place.

PCB Assembly, Rework & Kitting

Hang rows of bins on wire or steel shelving to build a static-controlled flow from stockroom to bench. The open hopper front makes picking bare and populated boards, ICs, and connectors fast without lifting a lid.

Repair & Failure-Analysis Labs

Organize pulled components, spares, and devices under test on open shelving without risking a static event. Label holders keep serialized parts identified as they move between benches.

Data-Center & Spare Cribs

Shelve drives, memory, cards, and network spares in bins that won't charge the parts they protect — hung on the crib's existing wire shelving, deep sizes for long cards and rails.

Frequently Asked Questions

They are molded from carbon-filled copolymer polypropylene, so the entire bin is conductive and carries static charge safely away instead of letting it build up. Surface resistivity is less than 105 ohms per square — the conductive range — which protects ICs, boards, and other static-sensitive components from electrostatic discharge, EMI, and induced fields.
These are conductive bins, with surface resistivity below 105 ohms per square. Conductive plastic moves charge quickly to ground, which is what most PCB assembly, SMT, and component-handling programs specify for bins at the bench. If your process documents call out a specific resistivity range, confirm it against this spec before you standardize.
No. A shelf bin has a molded rear hang lock that hooks over the front lip of a shelf, so the bin sits level on wire or solid shelving and pulls forward without sliding off. It is designed for open shelving, not for stacking on a bulk rack or hanging from a louvered panel. Empty bins nest inside one another to save space.
It depends on bin width. As a guide, the narrow 2-3/4"-wide bin fits about 8 across a 24"-wide shelf, 13 across 36", and 17 across 48"; the 11-1/8"-wide bin fits about 2 across 24" and 3 across 36". Pick the shelf depth (12", 18", or 24") to match your shelf, then choose a width that divides into your shelf length.
Yes. A molded label holder on the hopper front keeps parts identified. Optional ESD-safe dividers are sold separately to split a bin into compartments.
13 sizes across three shelf depths — 12", 18", and 24" deep — in widths from 2-3/4" to 11-1/8", all 4" high. Use the Outside Length (shelf depth) and Outside Width filters above the table to narrow to what fits your shelving, and open the quick view on any row for inside dimensions.
By the carton — packs of 6 to 36 depending on size. The table shows the carton price and the per-bin price, and quantities are entered in cartons. Volume discounts apply automatically in the cart: 5% off orders over $1,000 and 10% off over $2,500.
